Entry Fee:
$35 if registration received on or before Monday, May 14 at 5 PM.
$45: late registration on or after May 15, including on race day.

Registration opens at 6:30 AM. Please allow 5-10 minutes to walk/run from parking to the starting line. All half-marathon participants are asked to be at the start line by 7:20 AM for a pre-race meeting. The half-marathon starts at 7:30 AM. When you arrive at the state park, follow signs to "Event Parking" -- most racers should park at the Fuller Lake main parking lot, then allow time to walk to the start area at the Furnace Stack (the big stone structure in the center of the park, located "below" the A.T. Museum and general store).

     Restrooms are available at registration.

     Headphones are discouraged.
NO animals/wheels on the course due to safety and room considerations.

This event is a fundraiser for the Friends of Pine Grove Furnace State Park. All proceeds support educational and recreational activities at the park. The Friends of Pine Grove Furnace State Park is organized as a chapter of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF). PPFF is a 501(c)(3) organization registered with the PA Dept. of State; registration information may be obtained by calling toll-free within PA 1-800-732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.

Race shirts (high-tech performance fabric) will be reserved only for registrations on or before May 14. Shirt sizes must be received by May 14 at 5 PM so we have time to order customized shirts with our logos. Late registrations will not be guaranteed a shirt (a limited number of shirts may be available on race day -- but we cannot promise a shirt for late or same-day registrants).

Timing services will be provided by Pretzel City Sports.

Course Description:

The Iron Run is a half marathon run (not walk!) with flat and hilly sections and small stream crossings. Most of the course has rocks, roots, logs, and possibly damp muddy areas. This is not a rail-trail run…this is a true TRAIL run!  The course showcases beautiful Pine Grove Furnace State Park and the Michaux State Forest.

The Iron Run half-marathon course for 2018 is the same as in 2017. Note that the total distance is actually 13.4 miles.

Half Marathon and 5k Race Awards:

Awards Ceremony will start around 11:00 AM.
